iBook Simplicity

By on

There are so many possibilities that ibooks author has made a reality. I absolutely love ibooks author for its simplicity and ease of use. I will be the first to admit that I know little about computers and even less about Adobe InDesign. I do not like it at all. I find it unnatural and very deceiving. iBooks Author seems to me like a Microsoft Powerpoint for publishing books. It is just as easy and has some of the same features such as premade templates, chart creation, tables, etc... For a free apple app I believe iBooks Author to be awesome and super easy.

The "Tips" section in iBooks author that not many people know about seems like it could be very helpful in publishing my book in iBooks. The 3D chart also looked really cool which I could definitely incorporate with some of the data that I have found. Also, the Q&A widget is awesome! I had no clue how I was going to set up my quiz section of the book but now it seems like it will be no problem at all. This article is crucial for my project. I already knew how user friendly iBooks author was but with the help of these tips it opened many more options for my iBook.

I also like iBooks Author

I also like iBooks Author more than InDesign simply because it is so much easier to learn about and use. There are some downfalls though that the author of this article noted, but I feel like many of these downfalls will not affect us on our projects for this class. The only downside that I am not too happy about is the inability to get super creative with the layout and fonts. Like the author noted, it really seems like this program is used for textbooks. BUT it is A LOT easier to handle and less overwhelming.
