Case Study Draft

By on

This was a very interesting topic to research. It is such a simple way for many who do not have time to volunteer to help with one of the world's largest problems. We feel that our writing is close to being ready for a final draft, however we do want to know what others think if we should insert our sources into the writing and if we should cite them in APA format.

Microsoft's Ipod Packaging

The video can be very useful to Microsoft. Any type of self-critique or analysis can help a company to see its faults and improve on them. Apple's product packaging tends to be very simplistic compared, while Microsoft's does have more logos on it. It is not as bad as the video makes it out to be, which is the point of the parody. This case study is attempting to showcase all of the issues with Microsoft's packaging so that it can be improved upon.

Before: According to the United Nations, 783 million people do not have access to clean water, and 2.5 billion people do not have access to sanitation. Approximately 1000 children die each day due to diseases they contracted from unsanitary water. The fact that so many people do not have access to something that a lot of others take for granted is horrifying. Many couldn’t imagine life without clean tap water and don’t have to worry that the next sip of water they take could kill them.

We have learned a lot of interesting information about our topic. The project is currently sponsored by Giorgio Armani and Swell. These are the companies that donate when someone participates. Over 3.5 million people have participated by not using their phones for 170 million combined minutes. The project does not just consist of the participants, but also accepts donations and volunteers to help. A donation of just $15 dollars provides clean water to one person for a year. We have also learned how extensive the issue of not having clean water is.

1. Audience
I assume that my audience knows very basic word processor functions, such as opening and saving documents. With this in mind, I feel that I described the processes with adequate detail. The draft does show that I know what I am talking about. The readers will trust me based on the screenshots I have put in the project that complement the written instructions. I don't think that readers will have many emotions about learning Adobe software other than frustration due to not understanding the software, which can be overcome because my project is strait forward.

My topic is “Five things you didn’t know you could do with Adobe Acrobat DC”. At first, I knew very little about Adobe's Acrobat DC program. However, after my research I have a good understanding of how to operate the program. I began my research by first watching a tutorial on Adobe's website, which I followed up with by exploring the program on my own and testing its features. I had difficulty finding tutorials for Acrobat that did not come from Adobe's website.
