I thought that the video conveyed a very interesting point in a satirical way about how Microsoft goes quite overboard on the labeling of their products compared to that of apples. I think the design principles of this case study is that just because product has a lot of big flashy labels with descriptions doesn't always make it more appealing. The study is emphasizing the fact that sometimes a sleek and reserved package can be more appealing. Information overload can lead to a product losing its ability to communicate to consumer effectively.

The Challenge: In this digital age, paying friends back for a meal or donating money to a small cause feels inconvenient especially since almost everything can be done on a smartphone. The creators of Venmo had the exact same thought, asking each other “Why are we still doing this?”

Technical Case Study 2

After conduction research on our case study topic of Venmo we came across quite a bit of new information about how Venmo operates and some of the issues people are discovering with it. Venmo was originally created by two student from the University of Pennsylvania because they were tired of always having to keep track of who owed who whenever some one did not have money. Venmo has grown since its creation and is now owned by online payment giant PayPal. Venmo is different from PayPal or Square in the way that it has added a social media aspect to the electronic banking world.

My documentation project is about how to use Adobe Illustrator to create a company logo. I have never used any Adobe products before or any type of computer design or photo doctoring tool. So this was an entire new experience for me and i had to do quite a bit of research before starting this project. So I Googled how to make a logo with Adobe Illustrator and I was presented with a plethora of links to sites and videos of people explaining how to use Adobe Illustrator.
