1. Currently I am a Creative Intern at The Brandon Agency in Myrtle Beach, SC. My supervisor is Missy Thompson, the Creative Director. I have worked here May 2014 - August 2014, December 2014, June 2015 - August 2015, December 2015, and Present - August 2016. For this job, I am required to know design software such as the Adobe Creative Cloud programs, good work ethic, and attention to detail. I am responsible for creating logos for clients, promo panels, billboards, emails, and other print collateral.

1. The first job I had was a lifeguard at Hammond Hills Suburban Club in North Augusta, South Carolina. My supervisor was Chris Collins and I worked here for the summer after my senior year of high school(May2013-August2013). My duties included checking the chemicals in the pool, cleaning up the pool area, selling snacks and food to pool-goers, dealing with injuries people acquired while at the pool, and most importantly I watched over the pool while people were swimming to make sure everyone was safe.

Through the readings in “Writing a Manual for the Digital Age” I learned that there are many factors to consider when choosing something to write about and while reviewing the final product. When looking at rhetorical situation there are four aspects to consider. They include the text which entail, the content, words, and media in the writing. The reader and their knowledge and or experience on the topic at hand. The next element is the writer and their knowledge, emotion, and experience of the chosen topic.

Rhetoric is an important part of formal writing and everyday communication. The four main components of a rhetorical situation are the text, the writer, the reader, and the context. Each of these components should be analyzed before and during writing. The text is the words or images used for the rhetoric. The reader and writer are simply the people and their personal experiences that are exchanging the information. The context is the situation and elements that the rest of the rhetorical decisions are based around.

The text in a rhetorical situation essentially what the average person would call the content. It consists of how the content or the idea of the situation is conveyed. Writing is an extremely important skill that takes a lot of knowledge to master. The are many different situations that one may find his or herself trying to persuade someone to do something using their writing. In these situations it is important to have an understanding of their rhetorical situation. There are four key components of a rhetorical situation; the context, reader, writer, and text. Using a job applicant as an example it would be smart for the applicant to begin with the context because it is important to know the type of message that is trying to be conveyed.
