Design on Campus

By on

Chip Kidd says, "everything that is not made by nature is designed by someone." This statement is actually pretty obvious, but I'd never really thought about it before, and I find it pretty interesting to think about. Though architecture is generally very different from books, there can be some connections.

This image is from the botanical gardens. I don't really know what it means but it reminds me of some Little House on the Prairie type thing.

The second image is also from the gardens. It is a fire engine so obviously it reminds me of books and stories having to do with that idea.

My third image is of a bridge in the gardens. Bridges are often symbolic in literature and are used in many, many books--i.e. Bridge to Terabithia.

I like how you didn't pic posters like everyone else! These are really creative pictures and great designs as well. The colors and the way you tied them in with books was great too!

I love these pictures! The botanical gardens on campus are always a very artful and beautiful place. It has a lot of history with the house and the red train car, and it has a beautiful lake. These are definitely beautiful designs on campus. Good Job!

Great job Abby!

I'm not going to lie, I've been here for four years and have never been to the botanical gardens. I didn't realize how pretty they were! I'll definitely add that to my bucket list for before I graduate. Great connections of your pictures to literature! Thanks for sharing!
